Managers and supervisors at OSU play a key role in enabling employees to do their best work. The Core Curriculum for Managers and Supervisors is a training program for all Oregon State University managers, supervisors, and lead workers. The objective of this program is for learners to understand the responsibilities they have in their role as as supervisor, and to be able to empower employees in every stage of employment. The Search Advocate Community of Practice (CoP) is a monthly meeting for those who have already completed Search Advocate Foundations series. Trained advocates come together to discuss challenges, share strategies, and co-create the OSU Search Advocate program. Three CoP meetings during the academic year fulfill the annual search advocate continuing education requirements for eligibility.
This workshop is a deeper dive into remote and face-to-face interviews in the search and selection process. For current search advocates, the session will provide one unit of the three required units of continuing education.
This workshop is a continuing education update for those who have completed the Search Advocate Foundations initial workshop series and will meet the requirements for them to remain eligible to serve in that role for another year. Content changes each year, but typically introduces new tools, reinforces recommendations for advocates, and provides a forum for practice and for addressing current questions.
The Faculty Success Program is a 12-week, online program that was designed to teach tenure-track and tenured faculty the skills they need to increase both their research and writing productivity while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Participants must be nominated by their dean.
