Upcoming: FYI Friday session, Teamwork in Motion (FYI Spring 2025)

Teamwork in Motion is a one-hour experience to equip participants with team activities and icebreakers for future meetings. By engaging in six fast-moving drills, participants will practice clear introductions, role-playing, effective communication, nonverbal communication, strategies for facilitation, and will recognize how varying perspectives can shape team activities and conversations.

In this session, Gabe Merrill with the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access will demonstrate and interact with resources to ensure that websites, course materials, PDFs, and other online information are accessible for those who use screen readers or have visual impairments. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how people access online material and basic tools to use to ensure clarity of communication.

Upcoming: FYI Friday session, Special Accommodations for Service and Emotional Support Animals (FYI Spring 2025)

In this session, you'll hear from OSU's Director of Access and Affirmative Action on the dos and don'ts of having service and emotional support animals at campus events. 

The presentation will introduce attendees to the newly updated OSU policy. Participants will learn how to interact with program participants who bring animals to their events, what they can and cannot ask, and how to address concerns that allowing animals might impact others.

PERS Retirement Readiness - Tier One and Tier Two within 3 years of retirement

This presentation is ideal for Tier One/Tier Two members who are within three years of PERS retirement. Topics include a step-by-step review of a PERS estimate of retirement benefits, retirement options, and retirement timelines; guidelines on completing the retirement application; an explanation of working after retirement rules; detailed information regarding the Individual Account Program (IAP); and a list of available resources. This is an in-person event.
