A good course proposal needs to be clear, strategic, and aligned with the academic policies. OSU uses Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM) software as an online platform for curricular proposal submission and review. This course demonstrates how to navigate CIM to successfully submit a course proposal as well as explains the curriculum review workflow in a nutshell.

Microaggressions are deceptively complex and addressing them is never as simple as we want it to be in the moment. Using insights from the most current research and the contexts that interest you, we will explore various actions and their potential outcomes. Bring your stories, and as always, your curiosity, to this interactive and research-based opportunity to further our understanding of microaggressions and our capacity to reconcile them when they do happen.

This workshop explores the connection between the good-bad binary we have been socialized with and the structures that maintain social oppression, not only in the world around us but also within us. How might our self-perception of ourselves as “good” people actually get in the way of actualizing our best intentions? How does the good-bad binary engender fragility? Join your peers for a lively dive into some complex ideas, with ample room for discussion and reflection.

The Tier One Platform series of the Social Justice Education Initiative is a foundational professional development opportunity for all OSU faculty, staff, and graduate students. The New OSU Supervisor Series is an orientation program for employees starting in new manager, supervisor, or lead worker roles. Designed to be completed within the first month of their new role, this orientation series equips participants with foundational knowledge about supervisory responsibilities at OSU.

To empower employees with relevant knowledge and skills, the Office of Institutional Diversity is offering a 2-hour workshop: Free Expression at OSU.

Through a variety of interactive exercises, participants will (1) deepen their knowledge of the laws and policies that guide speech activity at Oregon State University, (2) reflect on how they may balance their professional and personal values as they guide student and employee speech activity and (3) practice exploring and negotiating challenging scenarios with their peers.

This two-hour workshop provides opportunities to learn and practice proven interpersonal skills, questioning techniques, and structured conversational tools to use while mentoring others.
